Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What makes The Movement unique?
The Movement is unique in several ways. The most unique quality of our program is commitment to discipling and accountability for every student. Each student will receive the one-on-one mentorship and discipleship that so many studentsdesire and need at this stage in their lives. The Movement is about involvement and provides students unique, amazing hands-on training opportunities. Since we are based at the world-renowned Los Angeles Dream Center, under the inspiring leadership of Pastors Matthew and Tommy Barnett, students are able to fill much of their schedule with hands-on training.

The experience at The Movement is anything but ordinary! On top of the classes, ministry tracks, discipleship and hundreds of outreaches and events, we start every morning with worship and prayer. This is a time dedicated to growing closer to God both individually and corporately. We also serve in various areas during church services in an effort to make the church environment warn and inviting to every person that attends. The Movement travels to hundreds of churches throughout the Southern California area, bringing a powerful message to thousands of students through spoken word, dance, media and other creative expression. All these services are created and performed by The Movement students and staff. The Movement has quickly developed into one of the premier ministry training and discipleship schools around the world – it’s sure to be an experience that the students will never forget.

What is the commitment?
The student must be at least 18 years old or a high-school graduate to be eligible for The Movement. No dating is permitted during the ten-month session. Christ will be their sole commitment during their time here. The daily schedule is very intense and will not allow time for an outside job; therefore, no student will be permitted to work an outside job during the session.
